The middle school honours programme is designed to encourage students in Year 7 and 8 to participate fully in all the school has to offer, to become leaders of themselves, set goals and work to achieve them. Through participation and achievement, students will gain “merit points” that will accumulate over their two years in this area of the school. Once earned, points cannot be taken from students.
Points can be earned in 4 key areas: Academic : Sporting : Cultural and Civic
Once a certain number of points have been earned in these areas, students will be awarded a Merit badge further points will lead to an excellence in that area. Once a student achieves two excellences and a merit, then they are in a position to apply for their Honours. Honours will not be granted on point collection alone, an Honours Student must have shown mana, strong character and been a true role model to others throughout their time in the middle school. If granted Honours, students names will be added to the Honours Roll and their achievement recognised in the annual prize giving.
